Different Flag, Same Old Ones…
European street protests now wave the Palestinian flag, but the underlying aim remains unchanged: promoting totalitarian regimes under an anti‑capitalist guise.
In the recent street demonstrations that have shaken Europe, with especially staged violent actions in Paris — and led by the “left” — the Palestinian flag has been seen sheltering the protests.
I point out this circumstance to highlight at least two singularities.
The first is that a change of banners is observed: instead of the red one with the sickle and hammer, the Palestinian flag flies, with its implicitly anti‑Semitic message. It is not a mere substitution: it constitutes a consolidated declaration of repudiation of capitalism and Western culture.
The second consideration is a direct consequence of the first. It was already warned — among others — by the American political scientist Samuel Huntington, in his book “Clash of Civilizations” (1996).
Huntington argued that once the Cold War ended, the clash between capitalism and communism would take a new form: the religious one. In short, the major axes of potential world conflagrations would be broadly determined by the confrontation between Western culture and radical variants of Islamism.
And one manifestation of such a confrontation is exactly what is happening right now in Europe.
Hamas is a faction of Palestinian Islamism whose explicit goal is to destroy Israel, and by extension the United States, both considered the heads of global capitalism. Thus, when the left together with its intercontinental “woke” variants raise the Palestinian flag under the banner of “street protests”, causing looting and the destruction of public assets and private property, they demonstrate adherence to the Palestinian “cause” embodied by Hamas. They no longer need to hide behind the red flag with the sickle and hammer of international communism, because since the fall of the Berlin Wall it has died; at the slow and ominous pace at which Cuba or Nicaragua die.
Now they march with the Palestinian flag. And they want to plant it in the heart of Europe. But the objectives are the same as always: to build totalitarian states, leaving no option to live in democracy. Like in Iran, for example.
They have changed the flag, but the objectives remain unchanged: they intend to establish totalitarian regimes, like in Iran under the Ayatollahs, or like the Castros and Ortega in Cuba and Nicaragua.
